Motorola lists the MOT-MH230TPR 2-way radios as having a 23 mile range in optimal conditions (shorter range in urban settings and heavily obstructed areas). We have found that this range is more than enough to fully enjoy these radios with friends and family. Get your GMRS license through the FCC and use those channels for longer range.
